Park level
Vehicle and trailer separately on flat ground. Drawbar level, loaded as you normally tow.

Measure two heights
A is the centre of the towbar receiver to the ground. B is the bottom of the coupling to the ground.

Take the difference
If the towbar is higher, you need a drop. If the coupling is higher, you need a rise. Then add 25mm for suspension sag. Gen-Y hitches work in either direction.

Choose your hitch
Each hole on a Gen-Y torsion hitch moves the ball 2½″, about 64mm, higher or lower. A 4-hole hitch covers a 5″ drop, a 5-hole covers 7½″, and a 6-hole covers 10″.
Example. Towbar 600mm, coupling 500mm. 600 − 500 = 100mm drop. 100 + 25 = 125mm, about 5″.
